GranataPet

The story behind the brand.

A man, a Labrador and a pomegranate - these were the ingredients for GranataPet's recipe for success. Founder and CEO Markus Fuchsenthaler swapped his jacket for the kitchen apron 15 years ago to free his dog Cira from her allergic symptoms. As standard commercial foods could not help the dog, her master rolled up his sleeves and dealt extensively with the subject of dog nutrition. In the process, he discovered a fruit that contained the solution: the pomegranate, today the trademark and name giver of the GranataPet brand. The red fruit contains particularly high levels of ellagic acid, a natural antioxidant and effective cell protection agent. Numerous scientific studies prove the positive influence of pomegranate seeds on the immune system and the cardiovascular system. »I became aware of the pomegranate and its special ingredients through a friend of mine, a commodities trader. It was clear to me that I had to develop a food that would use the effect of the pomegranate for animals as well.« No sooner said than done, and with the help of experts, a first snack for Cira was created. This was followed by the development of a wet and dry food for dogs. Three years later, the first recipes conquered the market at the end of 2008. In 2011 the cat assortment followed. Today all GranataPet products for dogs and cats are refined with pomegranate seeds - and still developed with as much love as on the first day.
